When is the program expected to start?

Our next Quality Engineering course begins on October 23

Our next Application Support Management on October 30

Classes begin monthly and we accept applications on a rolling basis. If you are unable to attend these classes or have missed the start date, apply today to be considered for upcoming cohorts.

 

How long does it take to complete the training?

The Quality Engineering and Application Support Management courses are taught over eight to nine weeks, Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. 

 

What are the applicant requirements to be accepted for this training?

Platform applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship and be able to travel to the Bronx, NY for training. Qualified applicants will also have one or more years of business and/or technology experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related topic areas and should be familiar with Java, .NET, C++, C#, SQL and/or Oracle, Microsoft Office software products, and mobile device operating systems. Is there an age limit?

Platform by Per Scholas does not have an age limit and welcome all people 18 or over to apply.

 

What type of IT jobs are graduates qualified for?

Platform graduates will have the business and technology skills to pursue rewarding careers as assurance analysts, business support consultants, project managers and software engineers.

 

Am I guaranteed a job with Cognizant?

Our training programs are customized to fit the hiring needs of our partner employers. While there isn’t a guarantee that all students will be hired by Cognizant, the company has committed to interview each graduates to fill up to 350 positions within its growing workforce.

Graduates who are not invited to join Cognizant will receive support from Per Scholas to identify other career opportunities where they can leverage their new skills.

 

Will I be required to work for Cognizant?

No, graduates are free to choose the career path is right for them.

 

Is the training in-person, online or both.

Platform by Per Scholas hosts all training in our Bronx, NY offices. To maximize learning with hands-on experience and workplace exposure, we do not offer an at-home or online curriculum. All courses are full time, 5 days a week from 9-5.

 

Do you conduct background and drug testing on your candidates?

All candidates should be aware that our hiring partners administer rigorous background checks and drug testing based on client assignment, as well as complete third party verifications to confirm education and work history.
These checks are condition of employment with Cognizant and our other hiring partners.

 

How much does the course cost?

Platform by Per Scholas is free to all accepted applicants.

 

What career development resources will be provided?

Platform students will participate in career development workshops led by employer partners. Workshops give applicants access to resume review sessions and mock interviews. "Meet the Employer" sessions help familiarize students with employer partner corporate culture and create connections with recruitment teams.

 

What type of compensation can a program graduate expect to earn?

Cognizant offers competitive compensation packages that typically include base salary and eligibility for bonuses, as well as a benefits package. Compensation varies among employers and can be affected by many factors, including job function and experience.
