How long does it take to complete the training?
Our courses are taught over 6 - 18 week periods, Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.
What are the applicant requirements to be accepted for this training?
Platform applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (presently or in the future) and be able to travel to the Bronx, NY for training.
Qualified applicants will also have one or more years of business and/or technology experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related topic areas and should be familiar with Java, .NET, C++, C#, SQL and/or Oracle, Microsoft Office software products, and mobile device operating systems. Is there an age limit?
Platform by Per Scholas does not have an age limit and welcome all people 18 or over to apply.
What type of IT jobs are graduates qualified for?
Platform graduates will have the business and technology skills to pursue rewarding careers as Assurance Analysts, Business Support Consultants, Project Managers and Software Engineers.
Am I guaranteed a job with your partnered employer(s)?
Per Scholas Inc. and its partnered employers do not guarantee employment. Graduates who are not offered a position with the course sponsor will receive support from Per Scholas' career advancement team to identify other career opportunities leveraging their new skills. The career advancement team works with each student to improve their resumes, practice interviews, and presentation skills.
Will I be required to work for your partnered employers?
No, graduates are free to choose the career path that is right for them.
Is the training in-person, online or both.
Platform by Per Scholas hosts all training in our Bronx, NY, Dallas, TX, Detroit, MI, Irving, TX and Philadelphia, PA offices. To maximize learning with hands-on experience and workplace exposure, we do not offer an at-home or online curriculum. All courses are full time, 5 days a week from 9-5.
Do you conduct background and drug testing on your candidates?
All candidates should be aware that our hiring partners administer rigorous background checks and drug testing based on client assignment, as well as complete third party verifications to confirm education and work history.
These checks are condition of employment with Cognizant and our other hiring partners.
How much does the course cost?
Platform by Per Scholas is free to all accepted applicants. (Yes, you read that right, free!)
What career development resources will be provided?
Platform students will participate in career development workshops. Workshops give applicants access to resume review sessions and mock interviews. "Meet the Employer" sessions help familiarize students with employer partner corporate culture and create connections with recruitment teams.
What type of compensation can a program graduate expect to earn?
Our partnered employers offer competitive compensation packages that typically include base salary and eligibility for bonuses, as well as a benefits package. Compensation varies among employers and can be affected by many factors, including job function and experience.
