Software Support (also known as "Application Support Management") is an employer-driven, skills-building course that prepares students to troubleshoot and prioritize application coding problems (in Java or C#) by implementing Cognizant's "engagement lifecycle stages" to pursue a "Zero Maintenance Approach." Students learn to evaluate, improve and manage internal frameworks without disrupting the organization's current operations.
This course improves students' coding knowledge on Java or C#, database maintenance/troubleshooting, Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC), ITIL principles and ITSM software to document and communicate effectively as a consultant and engineer. Students who excel work with Platform’s Career Advancement team who prepare them for career opportunities with the initiative’s employer partners.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Candidates: Ideal candidates will be solution-oriented individuals interested in business processes, product sales, client management and technology applications and systems. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (presently or in the future) and be able to travel to Dallas, TX or Irving, TX for training.
Professional experience should include one or more years of business and/or tech experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related topic areas and familiarity with the following technologies:
- Java, .NET, C++, C#, SQL and/or Oracle
- Web conferencing (WebEx/Hangouts/Skype/GoToMeeting)
- Android/iOS operating systems
- Spreadsheets (Excel, Sheets, Numbers)
- Diagrams/Workflows (Visio/Lucidchart)
- Word processing (Word)
- Mail and Agenda (Outlook, Gmail, Office 365)
- Presentations (PPT, Keynote)
- Project Management (Agile, Scrum)
